Watermelon Festival
The Watermelon Festival in Cave City, AR has become one of our community's biggest events of the year. This historic event highlights a very special food item that we happen to be proud of. Here is a paragraph from the Watermelon Festival website that sums everything up pretty well. "Since 1980 we have been coming together to celebrate the "World's Sweetest Watermelons" and reconnect with family and friends. Now, in its 45th year, the watermelon festival is the largest festival in the region and has been voted as one of Arkansas' best festivals. While watermelons are still at the center of our celebration, we also celebrate the people and businesses that make the Cave City area one of the greatest places in Arkansas! Come see what all the fuss is about!"
I had the privealge of documenting the 2026 Watermelon Festival events! I love being a part of community activities, and it's even more special when I get to do what I love; photograph them! This festival means so much to the entire Independece County community, and I hope I was able to capture that atmosphere in these photos.
