Lake, Canoe, & Senior Photos

So, let me tell you about the awesome story behind this session! About two years before Haidyn hit her senior year, I got a message from her mom, Dawn. She was super kind and mentioned how much she loved my work. Dawn had been following my stuff for a while and had a special request: she wanted me to take Haidyn's senior photos when the time came. Of course, I told her I’d be more than happy to make it happen!

Creative Ideas and Excitement

Fast forward a bit, and about a year and a half before Haidyn officially became a senior, Dawn reached out again with a cool idea. She sent me this amazing reel of a girl posing in a canoe for a photo shoot. It was her way of sharing her vision for Haidyn's senior session, and I could totally see the beauty in it! It was such a unique concept, and I immediately said YES!

The Big Day at Greers Ferry Lake

Finally, the day we’d all been waiting for arrived: Haidyn was now a senior and ready to kick off this exciting new chapter! Dawn reached out to nail down the details and book the date for the shoot. We decided to head to the gorgeous Greers Ferry Lake in Heber Springs, Arkansas. This place is special to me, and I use it a lot for photo sessions. I figured, since we needed water, what better place to go!

Overcoming Challenges

When we got to the lake, though, we hit a few bumps in the road. The first spot we checked out was the Litter Red River below the dam. Unfortunately, the water was being let out of the dam during our time there, so the river was too flooded to execute the photo session. But with a little creativity and determination, we finally found the perfect spot that brought our vision to life! To spice things up, I brought my DJI drone, which I lovingly call Steve. With Steve in action, I was able to capture some amazing aerial shots that added a cool twist to Haidyn's senior photos.

A Memorable Experience Taking Senior Photos

This session turned out to be absolutely incredible, filled with laughter, creativity, and a lot of adventure. I really appreciate that some of my clients are so dedicated and willing to wait two years to work with me. It's such a humbling feeling and shows the trust and connection we build. Dawn had a clear vision and knew I was the right fit for this adventure, and she was spot on! In the end, Haidyn got some super unique senior photos that truly reflected her personality, Dawn's dream session came to life in an amazing way, and I walked away not just with beautiful images, but also with new friends who shared in this unforgettable experience!
